Kau Inoa Event Sponsorships
Kau Inoa participates in events of Hawaiian interest and with many Hawaiians in attendance. These include (but are not limited to) conferences, concerts, sporting events, hoolaule'a, craft fairs, exhibitions, and competitions.
We usually set up a Kau Inoa booth in the vendor section, where trained personnel provide education and community service to anyone interested in learning about Kau Inoa or registering. Native Hawaiians may register at the booth and in most cases walk away with Kau Inoa T-shirt in hand. Non-Hawaiians may sign the non-Hawaiian supporter list and may receive some Kau Inoa giveaways – these vary from event to event.
Kau Inoa Event Sponsorships are awarded based on written proposals received by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ Hawaiian Governance Hale. Award amounts vary. Sponsorships generally include logo placement on ads, posters, and fliers for the event, advertisement space in programs and other printed materials, free booth space with premium placement, and announcements during the event.

COFFEE HOURS
A Kau Inoa Coffee Hour is a chance for you to gather a small group of ten to fifteen friends, family, coworkers, etc., in your home to discuss Kau Inoa registration. A member of OHA’s Community Outreach Team will make the process easy, from sending out the invitations to cleaning up. The hour will include a short presentation and question and answer session. OHA will provide the coffee, a few other beverages and light refreshments.
For more information, please contact Nara Cardenas at 594-0266 or narac@oha.org. If you are interested in hosting a Coffee Hour, please contact Dede Alo at 594-0219 or deidraa@oha.org.
SMALL GRANTS
Kau Inoa has limited funds to award to those wishing to be trained as Kau Inoa registrars. These are awarded as small grants. A Kau Inoa small grantee may be asked to set up and man a booth at an event or family reunion. Small grantees are also encouraged to suggest events where they would like to promote Kau Inoa. To become a small grantee you must fill out an application.
For an application and more information, please contact Aulani Apoliona at 594-1912 or aulania@oha.org.
